Counseling
Hello Panther Family-
My name is Daphne Molett-Riles and I am so looking forward to servicing the students and families of Oaklawn for 2019-2020 school year.
This is my thirteenth year in education and second year as a Guidance Counselor. I was an elementary classroom teacher for 1st-4th graders and a high school girls basketball coach for a year. I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Adminstration at Paul Quinn College. A few years after graduating from one of the oldest HBCUs, I began my graduate program at Angelo State University, and earned a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling which led me to becoming a Professional School Counselor for FWISD.
I have been married for 26 years to my husband, Kevin, and we have 2 terrific children: Kevin and Zoie. In my spare time I love to take vacations, play sports, watch movies, drawing, and spending quality time with family and friends
Students can be referred to me by their teacher, parent or by themselves. I will be going into classrooms working with students on various skills such as self confidence, motivation to achieve, decision making, goal setting, problem solving, interpersonal effectiveness, communication skills, cross cultural effectiveness, responsible behavior, and self-worth. I believe building connections with our students and families is essential to the emotional, social, and academic development of the school community.
As the year progresses, I will be including parenting tips, links, a calendar, and other helpful information on this website. Stay tuned.
